Collaboration is the name of the game in oil and gas industry

Aberdeen energy service firms Hydro Group and EnerMech are to work together in launching an new hydraulics hose product for the oil and gas industry.
 
It is believed the tie-up could generate in the region of £500,000 over the next year.
 
Graham Wilkie, sales director at Hydro Group, which designs and manufactures cables and connectors for subsea and onshore use, said: “Collaboration, diversification and innovation are key to surviving in challenging markets.
 
“Knowledge sharing with EnerMech has resulted in an important market offering which brings together expertise from both companies.”
 
Hydro Group said its growing product range had already led to staff numbers at its Aberdeen headquarters rise to more than 100 for the first time, while further inroads into new and existing markets are expected to produce a 12% jump in turnover to more than £10million this year.
 
EnerMech supplies a broad range of mechanical services to the international energy industry and has a 40-year heritage in hydraulic services, including engineering and design, component supply and hose integrity management.
 
Another new oil and gas industry partnership will see Norwegian firms Aker Solutions and Fjords Processing developing technology and capabilities for advanced, cost-effective wellstream separation and treatment solutions for subsea and topside projects.
 
The WellSep joint-venture will combine Aker Solutions’ subsea processing experience and testing facilities and Fjords’ topside and onshore separation technologies.
 
Aker Solutions will serve the subsea market, while Fjords Processing focuses on topside work.
