Daniel Lutz becomes new Group CEO of ORIOR AG

The Board of Directors of ORIOR AG has appointed Daniel Lutz as the group’s new CEO. Daniel Lutz (born 1966) is a Swiss citizen and is currently Managing Director of Nestlé Food and Beverage in the Greater China Region. He will take over at ORIOR in February 2015. Until then, the Group will continue to be led on an interim basis by Bruno de Gennaro. 
 
Daniel Lutz is a proven and experienced food specialist with very good knowledge of the Swiss market and especially of the retail sector. An economics graduate, he was for several years head of Nestlé’s Frisco Findus Division in Rorschach, where he was responsible for production as well as sales and marketing. Before that he held various management positions at Nestlé in Switzerland, Mexico and Malaysia. As Managing Director of Nestlé Food and Beverage in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, Daniel Lutz is currently responsible for a billion-franc market.

The Board of Directors would already like to offer its heartfelt thanks to Bruno de Gennaro. Within just a short period of time he has made a decisive mark in terms of strategy and results. As the Head of ORIOR’s Convenience Segment and Member of the Management Board, Bruno de Gennaro will continue to be a key figure for ORIOR.

US bans Red Dye 3 in foods, beverages and ingested drugs

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has banned the use of the synthetic colourant Red Dye 3 in food, beverages and ingested drugs. The decision, announced on 15 January 2025, follows two studies that linked the dye to cancer in male laboratory rats.
