Muhibbah Engineering secures RM100m chemical plant job

KUALA LUMPUR: Muhibbah Engineering (M) Bhd has secured a Rm100mil contract to build an aroma chemical complex and facilities in Kuantan.

It said on Tuesday the contract involved the construction, fabrication and installation for the complex and facilities for the lemongrass project undertaken by BASF Petronas Chemicals Sdn Bhd.

The new complex will comprise of one production building and other facilities. 

Muhibbah said the scope of the contract work includes construction, scaffolding, warehousing, heavy lift and pre-commissioning. Additional scope could include commissioning and start-up support and would be determined at a later date.

“Construction will commence immediately and is estimated to be completed in two years,” it said.

Chemours announced its CFO Jonathan Lock has resigned from all positions within the company, according to an SEC 8-K filing on April 23. The resignation comes in the aftermath of the company announcing that Lock, former CEO Mark Newman, and principal accounting officer Camela Wisel, had been placed on administrative leave.
