Dow Corning Greater China New President Appointed

Dow Corning, a global leader in silicones, silicon-based technologies and innovation, has recently appointed Jeroen Bloemhard as its new Greater China President. Bloemhard, who brings over 20 years’ professional experience in the silicones industry to this role, will lead the corporate management of the Greater China team as
Dow Corning continues to build its leadership position in the market.
 
In his new role, Bloemhard is the lead executive for corporate governance, compliance and risk management, building on the progress made in Dow Corning’s 40 years of operations in Greater China. He is currently also Global Vice President of sales for Dow Corning’s XIAMETER® brand.
 
It is Bloemhard’s second assignment in China, having previously led the development of Dow Corning’s electronics business in the market. “I am excited to take this new assignment in such an important market as Greater China, which is one of the priority markets for Dow Corning and an engine for its future growth. In this market, Dow Corning has been highly recognized as a leader in technology innovation, Responsible Care® and employer of choice.” He said, “Together with a highly committed team, we are confident of continuing our leadership and success in Greater China.”
 
Bloemhard began his career at Dow Corning in Belgium in 1993 in the marketing function. In 2003, he relocated to Shanghai to build Dow Corning’s market position in the electronics industry in Greater China. In his subsequent role of Global Vice President and Executive Director of the company’s electronics business, he led the business to deliver double-digit growth through new product innovation and the development of new applications, markets and geographies. Since 2010, Bloemhard has assumed subsequent global leadership positions in raw materials procurement and Dow Corning’s XIAMETER business. He has been stationed in Belgium, Germany, China, Japan and the USA as part of his tenure with Dow Corning.
 
Dow Corning Greater China started operations in Hong Kong in 1973. Today the company has a China Business and Technology Center in Shanghai, two major manufacturing sites in China, one in Shanghai Songjiang and the other in Jiangsu Zhangjiagang, as well as six offices in Beijing, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The past 40 years have witnessed great achievements by Dow Corning in Greater China, with investments totaling more than US$2 billion. In year 2014, the company received the “China Top Employer Award” for the fourth time and the “Best Practice in Responsible Care Award” from China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF), reflecting its long-term commitment to the nation and to Chinese customers.
