Kraft Heinz names general counsel and corporate secretary

Rashida La Lande has been named global general counsel and corporate secretary of the Kraft Heinz Co. In her new role, she will oversee the company’s legal function, including corporate governance, transactions, regulatory, intellectual property, litigation and labor and employment.

Ms. La Lande joins Kraft Heinz from the law firm of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher L.L.P., where she is currently a partner. She brings 18 years of experience representing companies and private equity sponsors in the consumer products, retail, financial services and technology industries. She received a juris doctor from Columbia Law School and a bachelor of arts degree from Harvard College.

She replaces Jim Savina, who will leave the company to pursue other opportunities. During his five-year tenure, Mr. Savina held various legal leadership roles and played a part in the integration of Kraft Foods Group and H.J. Heinz Co. in 2015.
