Stephen Koven has been named vice-president of digital experience for Hormel Foods Corp. He will report to Jim Splinter, group vice-president of corporate strategy.
In his new role, Mr. Koven will develop digital strategies and lead the four teams within the company’s recently formed digital experience group, including digital marketing, shopper engagement, digital strategy and innovation, and digital data analytics and insights.
Mr. Koven joins Hormel from Dogswell, a dog food and treats company, where he served as vice-president. Before that, he was director of marketing at Henkel and associate brand manager at The Clorox Co. Mr. Koven also held tax and finance roles at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Accenture.
“I am pleased to welcome Stephen to Hormel Foods,” Mr. Splinter said. “He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the company, and we look forward to his leadership in building our digital competencies as well as transforming our digital experience for consumers, customers and the company.”

Ferrero North America has opened its new Kinder Bueno production facility in Bloomington, Illinois, US. The expansion, which is the result of a $214 million investment, was first announced in November 2022 and has created around 200 new jobs and is set to drive Ferrero’s market expansion.
Chiquita Brands – in collaboration with KeyGene, MusaRadix and Wageningen University and Research – has unveiled a new banana hybrid named ‘Yelloway One’. This variety is engineered to resist Tropical Race 4 (TR4) and show partial resistance to Black Sigatoka, two fungal diseases that pose severe threats to global banana production.
PepsiCo is planning to acquire packaged food business Siete Foods in a US$1.2 billion deal to “bring a rich, new aspect” to its portfolio. The move will add Mexican-American foods like tortillas, salsas, seasonings, sauces, cookies and snacks to PepsiCo’s range of products.
