FrieslandCampina appoints Frans Keurentjes chairman

The Board of Zuivelcoöperatie FrieslandCampina U.A. has appointed Frans Keurentjes as its new Chairman with effect from 20 December 2016.

Mr Keurentjes will succeed Piet Boer, the current Chairman of the Board of the cooperative and the Supervisory Board, who will stand down when his present term ends, in accordance with the articles of association. Mr Keurentjes will also take up the post of Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Royal FrieslandCampina N.V. on the same date. Mr Keurentjes has been a member of the Board and the Supervisory Board of FrieslandCampina (and its legal precursors) since December 2006, and owns a dairy farm in Hornhuizen (Groningen).

Erwin Wunnekink has been appointed Vice-Chairman of the Board and Supervisory Board of FrieslandCampina, also with effect from 20 December 2016. Mr Wunnekink, who runs a dairy farm in Haarlo (Gelderland), has been a member of the Board and the Supervisory Board of FrieslandCampina since December 2009. He will succeed Jan Keijsers, who has been Vice-Chairman of the Board and Supervisory Board of FrieslandCampina since 16 December 2014. Mr Keijsers will remain a member of the Board of the cooperative until December 2017, when he will stand down in accordance with the articles of association.

The aforementioned appointments were announced at the Members’ Council of Zuivelcoöperatie FrieslandCampina U.A. on 14 June 2016.

Appointment of two new Board members

At its meeting on 14 June 2016, the Members’ Council of Zuivelcoöperatie FrieslandCampina U.A. appointed Hans Hettinga and Gjalt Mulder to the Board of FrieslandCampina. The appointments will take effect on 20 December 2016. Messrs Hettinga and Mulder will also become members of the Supervisory Board of Royal FrieslandCampina N.V. from the same date.

Mr Hettinga owns a dairy farm in It Heidenskip (Friesland) with his brother. He is also chairman of the Christian Democratic party on the municipal council of Súdwest-Fryslân. Mr Hettinga served on the Members’ Council of Zuivelcoöperatie FrieslandCampina U.A. (and its legal precursors) between 1998 and 2011, and was chairman of the Zuidwest-Friesland district during his last six years.

Gjalt Mulder has a dairy farm in Lippenhuizen (Friesland). He has served on the Members’ Council of Zuivelcoöperatie FrieslandCampina U.A. (and its legal precursors) since 2007, and has been chairman of the Centraal-Friesland district since 2009. Mr Mulder is also on the Members’ Council of AB Fryslân/Noord-Holland.

The two new board members will succeed Piet Boer and Simon Ruiter, who will stand down in accordance with the articles of association. Piet Boer has been Chairman of the Board and Supervisory Board of FrieslandCampina since 14 December 2011, having joined the Board in 1999. Simon Ruiter has been a member of the Board and Supervisory Board of FrieslandCampina since 2006.
