Based in Perrysburg, Ohio, Frozen Specialties has its products on sale in the US, Canada, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.
The acquired business will operate under Bellisio Foods’ Overhill Farms division. The acquisition closed last week.
Bellisio Foods president and CEO Ken Stickevers said: “This acquisition of FSI (Frozen Specialties) brings together our vibrant, growing companies who share an expertise in delivering delicious, exciting brands and private label products to retail customers that delight consumers.
Terry O’Brien, president of Overhill Farms, added: “We’re excited by the innovation and national plant network we can now bring to our private label, co-manufacturing and foodservice customers. The complementary product portfolios and product expertise across our company will benefit our North American and Asian customers.”
Thai meat importer CP Foods bought Bellisio Foods for $1.08 billion in 2016. Together with Overhill Farms, the business makes more than 400 products, including single- and multi-serve entrees, snacks, side dishes, and a range of foodservice foods.
When the deal took place, CP Foods described Bellisio as “one of America’s largest and fastest-growing frozen food companies”.
