The Liberal government is reaffirming its commitment to food processing in Ontario.

Premier Wynne says the $40-million jobs and prosperity fund will help maintain and grow the sector in Ontario.

“It seems to me that investing and having better partnerships between government and the food processing industry is a very important way of supporting our agri-food sector, says Wynne. ” And so the jobs and prosperity fund is the large umbrella for for $400-million over 10 years for the food processing industry.”

The agri-foods sector is worth about $34-billion in Ontario annually.
