Emmi will appoint Ricarda Demarmels as its new chief financial officer, who will join the Swiss dairy company in June 2019.

The news follows the announcement earlier this year that current Emmi CFO Jörg Riboni said he would leave the firm to pursue a new career challenge.

Emmi board of directors and group management said they are “delighted” that the company has been able to appoint someone with a “sound management record, a great deal of financial expertise and with experience of working for listed companies”.

A Swiss national, Demarmels is currently the chief financial officer of Swiss food and beverage firm Orior Group.

Emmi said that a particular bonus for the company will be the experience Demarmels has gained in strategic consultancy, M&A, integration, finance and the financial management of portfolio companies. She worked with Oliver Wyman Financial Services from 2005 to 2009.

Urs Riedener, CEO of Emmi, said: “Ricarda Demarmels comes to Emmi with financial expertise and experience gained in a dynamic company environment very similar to our own. She is an effective strategist and communicator, and her modern understanding of management will enable her to fit in very well in the group management team of the Emmi Group. We look forward very much to welcoming her on board soon.”

Ricarda Demarmels has a master’s degree in finance and accounting from the University of St. Gallen and speaks fluent German, English and Italian.
