Golden Wonder maker acquires pork crackling brand

The company behind brands such as Golden Wonder and Real Crisps has acquired The Real Pork Crackling Company, according to reports.

Trade publication Just Food has reported that the snacks manufacturer Tayto Group, whose parent company is based in Northamptonshire, has snapped up the Tamworth-headquartered business for an undisclosed amount from owner Chris Cunliffe.

The Real Pork Crackling Company, which was established in 1992, has deals with the likes of Sainsbury’s and Asda.

In May, Tayto acquired UK popcorn company Pop Notch for an undisclosed sum.

In February 2017, the company also snapped up London-based crisp maker Tavern Snacks and Devon-based popcorn supplier Portlebay Popcorn.
