JBS USA, a subsidiary of Brazil’s JBS S/A, has bought Plumrose USA, the U.S.-based bacon and deli-meats business of Denmark’s Danish Crown A/S, for $230 million, JBS USA said late Monday.

The deal is expected to close in the second half of the year, subject to regulatory review and approvals, the company said.

The acquisition includes five prepared-foods facilities and two distribution centers in the U.S. Plumrose’s net revenue is around $500 million, JBS USA said. Danish Crown is one of Europe’s largest pork processors and exporters as well as among the largest meat processing companies in that continent.
