German dairy giant Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller has appointed a new chief financial officer.

Frank Richter, 48, joins the yoghurt and milk firm from chemicals company Altana, where he previously held the position of finance and controlling since 2011. He replaces Henrik Bauwens, who joined Intersnack last summer.

In addition, Müller has also appointed a new chief operating officer, Werner Stegmüller, who joins from KSB, a producer of centrifugal pumps and valves.

Stegmüller takes over as COO from Ronald Kers, who had taken on the role alongside his current position as chief executive, following the departure of Rob Scholte from the company last year. Kers retains the role of chief executive.

Müller, which owns brands including Weihenstephan and Homann, as well as its eponymous brand, generates around €6.5 billion in sales annually.
