Up to 50 new jobs are to be created in Shropshire at centres for production of yoghurt and chilled desserts owned by Müller Dairy.

The new roles at Müller’s Telford and Minsterley facilities follow strong growth in demand for the private label yoghurt and desserts produced at these sites. The Company recently announced the potential loss of 43 posts in Market Drayton as part of a review of operational efficiencies, and is ensuring that those who may be affected are offered the opportunity to transfer.

Commenting on the announcement, Roger Emery, Müller Dairy’s Operations Director, said, “We are excited by the growth in private label yoghurts and desserts and delighted to be able to create these new posts at Telford and Minsterley.

“We are offering careers in a business which continues to develop and aims to be the best dairy company in the UK.

“We currently employ almost 1,000 people in Shropshire and we intend to continue to build our business in the area.”

Müller will host recruitment stands at jobs fairs in Telford, Manchester and Northampton throughout July, along with recruitment advertising and internal notices aimed at existing employees.

Müller Dairy is the UK’s leading branded yoghurt manufacturer, with major brands such as Müller Corner, Müllerlight and Müller Rice.

Müller Dairy also supplies the UK private label yoghurt market from its yoghurt facility in Telford, Shropshire.
