Avantium Appoints Steven Olivier to Lead its Catalysis Business

Avantium has announced that it has appointed Steven Olivier as Managing Director of its Catalysis Services & Systems business. Avantium is a global leader in advanced catalysis R&D systems and services for the oil, refinery, chemical and renewable chemistry industry. Steven will be responsible for the growth strategy of this business unit of Avantium.
 
Steven Olivier has previously worked at Albemarle and AkzoNobel in a range of general management and commercial roles. He has led global businesses across different segments of the catalyst industry in Europe and Asia, and has been responsible for sales & marketing, strategy, technology commercialization, R&D and supply chains.  He holds a Master’s degree in Chemistry from the Leiden University in the Netherlands.
 
“Steven’s global experience in the catalyst business will be valuable to Avantium as we enter into the next phase of growing our Catalysis services and systems business and strengthening our technological capabilities in the advanced catalysis R&D industry,” said Tom van Aken, CEO of Avantium. “We are pleased to welcome Steven who will bring in-depth customer understanding and seasoned leadership to our Catalysis business.”
