Owens-Illinois Inc. Chief Financial Officer Stephen P. Bramlage Jr. will leave the glass-bottle maker at month’s end to become the financial chief at Aramark.

Mr. Bramlage, 44 years old, will succeed Aramark’s current finance chief, Fred Sutherland, who is retiring after nearly 35 years at the company, including 17 years as finance chief. Mr. Sutherland, 63, will stay on through December to assist with the transition.

Aramark provides food, uniforms and facilities-management services to hospitals, correctional facilities and universities across 22 countries.

Owens-Illinois controller John Haudrich will take on the responsibilities of financial chief on an interim basis as the Ohio-based glass container manufacturer conducts a search for a successor.

Chairman and Chief Executive Al Stroucken stated in a news release Thursday that Mr. Haudrich, who has been the company’s controller since 2011, “is a strong and talented leader with broad experience in corporate finance who can readily assume CFO responsibilities.”

Mr. Bramlage was named Owen-Illinois financial chief in 2012 after holding a number of financial and managerial posts with the company. Further details of his plans after he leaves Owens-Illinois weren’t provided in a news release on Thursday.
