HKScan’s Board of Directors has appointed Jari Latvanen (52), MBA, as its new President and CEO. Latvanen will be joining HKScan from Stora Enso by the end of November 2016 at the latest. Aki Laiho, COO, will continue to serve as the deputy CEO until Latvanen assumes his new position.
hkscan_jari_latvanen_p.jpgJari Latvanen has served as a member of Stora Enso’s executive management team and Head of Consumer Board since the beginning of 2015. He has previously served as CEO of Findus Nordic, in numerous leadership positions at Nestlé, and as sales and commercial director at HK Ruokatalo (today HKScan Finland) from 1995 to 2000.
As commented by Mikko Nikula, Chairman of HKScan’s Board of Directors, “Jari Latvanen has solid experience managing the entire food chain from farm to fork. He also has a convincing track record of successful leadership in the fast-moving consumer goods business in an international environment and first-hand experience working on HKScan’s home markets. In my opinion, with Jari as our leader, we can develop HKScan’s business towards even more consumer and customer oriented direction thus making the corporation even stronger for its personnel, customers and owners.”

Bunge Global SA has entered into an agreement to divest its European margarines and spreads division to Vandemoortele, a prominent family-owned food group based in Europe. This transaction includes Bunge’s manufacturing operations in Germany, Finland, Poland and Hungary, along with a portfolio of 20 consumer brands.
Nestlé has announced plans to cease operations at its Conow production site in early 2026 and its Neuss plant in mid-2026, citing rising costs and declining volumes driven by increasing consumer price sensitivity. According to the company, the decisions follow an intensive review of both sites’ performance.
Dutch alcohol group Lucas Bols has appointed Frank Cocx to the role of CEO, with current CEO Huub van Doorne to step down after 20 years in the role. Cocx, previously Lucas Bols’ CFO, will take up the position from 1 October.
