Syngenta welcomes Emilhano Stefanello Lima as its new Global Head of Seedcare & Biologicals.

Emilhano’s journey is rooted in agriculture—beginning on his family farm in Brazil and spanning nearly 30 years of industry experience. His deep expertise and passion for innovation have driven the successful launches of key technologies like PLINAZOLIN® and TYMIRIUM®.

This internal promotion highlights the strength of Syngenta’s talent pipeline and its commitment to recognizing and advancing leaders from within.

Emilhano steps into this role at a pivotal time. With the industry’s most promising Biologicals pipeline and a mission to complement traditional solutions with nature-inspired innovation, he’s poised to shape the future of sustainable agriculture.

He will report to Steven Hawkins, succeeding Jonathan Brown, who was recently appointed as Head of Europe.

Trafigura-backed Terrafame studies producing scandium in Finland

The company, backed by trading house Trafigura Group, has begun a pre-feasibility study to assess obtaining the rare earth metal using a side stream at its uranium recovery plant, it said in a statement on Tuesday. Starting production would make Terrafame Europe’s sole producer of scandium, it said.
