Sika has agreed to buy Turkey-based adhesives manufacturer Akkim Sealants & Adhesives, the Swiss specialty and construction chemicals major said on Friday.

Akkim operates two facilities in Turkey and Romania producing polyurethane (PU) foams, adhesives, sealants, coatings and other chemicals, with an additional site in Turkey in the works.

The company generated net sales of approximately Swiss francs (Swfr) 220 million ($286 million) in 2025, Sika said in a statement.

“Akkim’s strong growth platform, highly complementary product portfolio, and deep customer relationships offer significant growth opportunities and value creation,” Sika Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) regional manager Christoph Ganz said.

The acquisition’s closing is expected in the third quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.
