Myriant Corporation Board appoints Cenan Ozmeral, Ph.D., as President and Chief Executive Officer

The Board of Directors of Myriant Corporation is pleased to announce the appointment of Cenan Ozmeral, Ph.D., to President and Chief Executive Officer effective immediately. Dr. Ozmeral has been with Myriant since November 2008, following a stellar 29-year career in senior management roles at BASF, a leading global chemical company. At Myriant Corporation, Dr. Ozmeral began employment as Senior Vice President and General Manager, Specialty Chemicals, and has served most recently as President and Chief Operating Officer. Dr. Ozmeral holds an MBA from Louisiana State University, a Ph.D. from the University of New Orleans in Organic Chemistry, an M.S. from Pennsylvania State and a B.S. from Robert College, both in Chemistry.
 
Myriant Corporation has a proven technology platform and strategic feedstock selection to deliver high-quality, high-performing, green chemicals at a competitive cost. Our platform produces a broad pipeline of bio-based chemicals including bio-succinic acid and its derivatives which integrate seamlessly into existing chemical production for multiple consumer applications.
 
Myriant’s flagship bio-succinic acid chemical plant is located in Lake Providence, Louisiana and is the first of its kind and scale in North America. Eni, Socar sign MOU for potential biofuels, biorefineries value chain

Eni SpA (Rome) and Azerbaijan’s state energy company Socar (Baku) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for potential cooperation in the biofuels production chain, including the possible conversion of conventional crude oil refineries into biorefineries. A schedule for potential projects was not given.
