Effective immediately, Pepperl+Fuchs’ explosion-protected mobile devices are also available through Everphone’s Device-as-a-Service model. Industrial and energy companies, among others, now benefit from secure, flexible and cost-efficient management of all their tablets and smartphones — including in hazardous environments.
Secure DaaS mobile devices now available for hazardous areas
Pepperl+Fuchs smartphones and tablets not only offer strong mobile performance with features such as 5G connectivity, NFC, GPS, Bluetooth and dual SIM, but are also specifically designed for frontline use and meet certification requirements such as IP68 and MIL-STD-810H.
They feature extremely scratch- and impact-resistant displays, can be operated while wearing gloves, offer push-to-talk functionality and support intrinsic safety for frontline workers (lone worker protection).
“With Pepperl+Fuchs, we are gaining a strong partner that brings safety expertise and industrial know-how into our DaaS model. Together, we enable frontline workers to work digitally in a safe and efficient way — while companies retain full control over their device fleets,” said Jan Dzulko, CEO of Everphone.
The following devices from the Pepperl+Fuchs mobile product line are now available through Everphone:
Everphone’s DaaS offering also includes a broad range of accessories for industrial use — from USB-C connectors for connecting external displays to the Bluetooth-enabled RSM-Ex 01 BT Z0 remote speaker microphone for safe use in high-noise environments.
“Smartphones and tablets are becoming the central link between people, cloud and machine through AI: they consolidate data, present AI results in context, enable fast and intuitive interaction — and are evolving into intelligent assistants in everyday workSascha Lekic, Global Portfolio Strategy lead, Mobile communication and HMI bei Pepperl+Fuchs.
Industrial hardware meets smart services
Through Everphone, these rugged devices can now be rented as needed via Device-as-a-Service — including lifecycle management, staging and free device replacement in case of damage. Companies benefit from consistently high SLAs, transparent costs and significantly reduced IT administrative effort.
Companies can now procure Pepperl+Fuchs devices via the Everphone portal as usual, ensuring standardized procurement and management processes for all required mobile devices — including explosion-protected models.
“Our customers want to put Industry 4.0 into practice — with secure mobile technology that is easy to deploy. Even for hazardous areas, Everphone offers the ideal service model: flexible usage, centralized management and simple, fast incident management,” said Hendrik Haag, partner Alliance Manager at Pepperl+Fuchs.
From clipboard to tablet — digitalization at the frontline
The partnership aims to fundamentally simplify mobile work in industrial environments — from plant maintenance and quality assurance to real-time data collection.
Tasks that previously required a clipboard, flashlight, radio and measuring device can now be consolidated into a single rugged mobile device. Pepperl+Fuchs devices combine powerful cameras, sensor technology, lone worker protection, data capture, communication and augmented reality functions in explosion-protected hardware.
Through Everphone’s centralized management, companies can digitize their frontline workforce without having to manage complex device processes themselves — an ideal solution for energy providers, chemical and manufacturing companies, and logistics businesses with high safety requirements.
