Sika AG said in a statement Oct. 10 that it has acquired Azpects Group (Ipswich, UK), a manufacturer of polymeric sands for the landscaping sector. Financial details were not disclosed.

Azpects manufactures and distributes a range of easy-to-use polymeric paving joint compounds and complementary landscaping products for the construction and maintenance of patios, pathways and driveways, Sika said. It serves a customer base through established trade distribution channels that reach landscaping contractors across the UK, Sika added.

The acquisition creates cross-selling opportunities as Azpects’ landscaping solutions are highly complementary to Sika’s broader product portfolio and extensive distribution network across the UK, the company said.

It will also result in manufacturing and logistics efficiencies as Azpects’ manufacturing facility provides opportunities to grow and optimize Sika’s UK production footprint, Sika said.

The acquisition of Azpects will provide a platform for growth in the landscaping market that continues to shift from traditional sand and cement products toward innovative polymeric jointing compounds, creating attractive long-term growth opportunities, the company said.
