Wood Group have secured a five year deal with Nexen, to provide services across their UK sector North Sea oil and gas platforms.

The deal worth £104 million (US$150m), secures over 190 jobs at Wood Group, and sees the continuation of a 12 year relationship between the pair.

“Working in partnership with Nexen we have proactively added value, maximized productivity and enhanced efficiency and safety across these assets.” said James Crawford, Wood Group PSN Managing Director.

Wood Group deliver operations, maintenance and technical support to the Nexen Buzzard, Golden Eagle and Scott platforms .

The £104 million (US$150m) contract ineffective immediately, and will be delivered by Wood Group’s PSN (WGPSN) brand.

“The long-term renewal of this contract demonstrates the success of our relationship and we look forward to leveraging our expertise and strong knowledge of the platforms, towards continued excellence in the service we provide to this key client.” concluded Crawford.

This is the third contract extension WGPSN has secured in the UK continental shelf this year. In April, the company announced a two year contract with TAQA, extending its provision of engineering, construction and maintenance services to five UKCS offshore assets.

In February WGPSN secured an extension to continue to support Chevron Upstream Europe across four offshore assets in the North Sea.
