Oil giant Statoil has outsourced its UK onshore and offshore payroll services to Norwegian firm Frontica Business Solutions.

The three-year deal will see Frontica run offshore payroll for Statoil’s Mariner oil and gas field and the Dudgeon offshore wind farm in coming years. Frontica will service Statoil out of its Aberdeen office.

Mariner, located East of Shetland, is one of the largest developments in the UK North Sea in more than a decade. Production is expected to begin in 2017.

Frontica will also assume responsibility for frequent business travellers to Norway and short-term business visitors to the UK.

Chief executive Niels Buch, said: “Efforts to reduce costs in the oil and gas industry are leading to new business opportunities for companies such as Frontica.”
