Kerry has opened its Southern Europe innovation centre, located in Barcelona, Spain, as part of the ongoing expansion of its presence in the region.
The facility combines the existing Kerry office in Barcelona with a new customer suite and application labs. It will enable the company to work more closely with its customers in Southern Europe to develop food and beverage solutions.
Juan Soto, VP and general manager for Kerry South Europe, said: “This investment will help us respond to our customers’ needs at pace, as we work closely together in partnership to deliver sustainable nutrition to consumers through our globally connected, locally-led approach”.
He continued: “Kerry’s strategic investments in the region underscore the emergence of Southern Europe as a very significant base for food manufacturing and innovation. We are excited to further the delivery of our insights and technologies across taste, plant-based, food waste, and health and bio-pharma across the region.”
The new centre was completed with the support of Acció-Catalonia – the Catalan government’s public agency for business competitiveness.
The agency helps Catalan companies to grow through innovation and internationalisation and supports them when looking for funding. It also works to attract foreign investment to Barcelona and Catalonia, promoting the area as an attractive, innovative and competitive location for doing business.
