Vioneo is excited to announce the appointment of Katja Wodjereck as Chief Commercial Officer. A seasoned executive with over 20 years of industry experience.
Katja Wodjereck most recently served at Neste, where she joined as Executive Vice President of the Renewable Road Transportation division in April 2023 and was later appointed Executive Vice President of Renewable Products in November 2023. Prior to her tenure at Neste, Katja Wodjereck held various leadership positions at Dow, including serving as President and General Manager of DACH, as well as holding several board positions.
Katja Wodjereck will lead Vioneo’s commercial strategy with a key focus on global business, partnerships and advocacy.

Vioneo aims to pioneer the defossilisation of the chemical sector by using green methanol to produce fossilfree polypropylene and polyethylene at a commercial scale. The first plant, based in Port of Antwerp, will use green methanol to produce app. 300,000 tonnes of fossil-free virgin plastics. Vioneo is owned by A.P. Moller Holding.

BASF has signed an agreement to sell its extruded polystyrene (XPS) Styrodur business to Karl Bachl Kunststoffverarbeitung, a fellow German company, as part of its strategy to focus on expandable polystyrene (EPS).
The approximately 50 employees involved in production, marketing, and sales will remain with BASF.
Barentz, a player in the speciality ingredients sector, has appointed Derk Jan Terhorst as group chief executive officer, effective immediately. Terhorst succeeds Terry Hill, who served as Interim CEO since May 2024. With over three years of experience at Barentz as Group CFO, Terhorst brings a robust background in financial management and strategic oversight.
Former Dow president and CEO Paul Oreffice died on Dec. 26 at his home in Paradise Valley, Arizona. He was 97. During Oreffice’s tenure at Dow, he is often credited with transforming the company from an American-focused industrial power into a global leader in chemicals and plastics.
