Mondi Group to buy Uralplastic

Packaging and paper group Mondi plc. Monday said it is acquiring ZAO Uralplastic-N from Joint Stock Company Rusnano and a private investor. The deal is expected to be complete in July 2016.

Uralplastic, with revenues of 29.2 million euros and adjusted EBITDA of 4.7 million euros in the last year, operates one plant near Ekaterinburg, in the Ural region of Russia and manufactures a range of consumer flexible packaging products for food, hygiene, homecare and other applications.

EU chemical industry confidence shows upward trend

At least the confidence in the chemical sector has been seeing an upward trend and the trade balance is recovering as destocking seems to be coming to an end. Citing projections from the European Central Bank, CEFIC states that the level of inflation is expected to fall from 5.4% in 2023 to 2.3% in 2024.
