Mondi Group agrees to sell its Raubling containerboard mill

Mondi Group has signed an agreement for the sale of its recycled containerboard mill and related recycling operations located in Raubling, Germany, to the Heinzel Group for an enterprise value of €25 million on a debt and cash free basis.

The transaction remains subject to competition clearance and is expected to complete by the end of 2015.

The sale enables Mondi to focus on the development of its core containerboard operations in line with its strategy.

EU chemical industry confidence shows upward trend

At least the confidence in the chemical sector has been seeing an upward trend and the trade balance is recovering as destocking seems to be coming to an end. Citing projections from the European Central Bank, CEFIC states that the level of inflation is expected to fall from 5.4% in 2023 to 2.3% in 2024.
