Ansell has announced the sale of its Onguard footwear business, including a US factory, to Dunlop Industrial and Protective Footwear for an undisclosed amount.
Ansell announced the sale to the subsidiary of Dunlop Protective Footwear Holdings this morning, reports AAP. It includes a factory at Havre de Grace, Maryland.
The Onguard business is claimed to have net sales of approximately $30 million. Ansell gained Onguard as part of an acquisition of BarrierSafe Solutions in January 2014.
The divestment announced this morning will pay down debt and focus the company, it said.
“This move enables us to focus on the globalisation of our innovative range of chemical clothing for industrial, chemical, oil and gas, and life science customers,” said Magnus Nicolin, CEO and managing director at Ansell, in a statement to the ASX.
