Sidel has unveiled its new Aseptic Knowledge Centre, a dedicated online resource aimed at assisting manufacturers in the sensitive liquid food and beverage sector.

This initiative comes at a time when the demand for healthy, long shelf-life drinks – such as juices, ready-to-drinks and liquid dairy products – is on the rise.

The Aseptic Knowledge Centre is designed to provide comprehensive insights into aseptic packaging, drawing on Sidel’s extensive experience in the field, which spans over five decades.

The platform will feature case studies, expert opinions, and the latest research on packaging innovations aimed at enhancing food safety and product integrity.

As the market for sensitive beverages evolves, manufacturers face increasing pressure from both consumers and regulatory bodies. The need for effective packaging solutions that ensure food safety while extending product shelf life is paramount. The centre aims to equip manufacturers with the knowledge required to navigate these challenges.

Damien Fournier, VP of sensitive portfolio at Sidel, said: “Food safety and extending product shelf life are top priorities for the aseptic packaging industry”. The centre will showcase how advancements in technology can address these critical concerns.

Among the innovations highlighted in the Aseptic Knowledge Centre is Sidel’s Predis system for dry aseptic preform sterilisation. This solution operates within a regular blow-molding environment, significantly simplifying the sterilisation process.

Additionally, Sidel is introducing ultra-small and ultra-light PET bottle designs tailored for liquid dairy products, providing manufacturers with a competitive edge.

The centre also focuses on the operational efficiencies that can be achieved through agile and intelligent systems. Sidel’s solutions allow for quick changeovers and adaptability to various packaging formats, ensuring that production sequences remain optimised while maintaining sterility.

Sidel’s commitment to sustainability is another key aspect of the Aseptic Knowledge Centre. The platform will provide information on the company’s efforts to transition from PET to recycled PET and highlight aseptic technologies that minimise environmental impact, such as reduced energy consumption and waste.

The user-friendly design of Sidel’s systems is intended to simplify maintenance and reduce downtime, ensuring long-term reliability and cost efficiency for manufacturers.
